Our Process

Many people like to know what the process is to getting a piercing. Here is how we roll at Pin Cushion Piercing.

1.ARRIVAL

When arriving to the property, we ask you to park at the bottom of the driveway. To the right is a beautiful staircase in the garden, the studio is upthere. If you have trouble finding where to go, let us know!

Not all piercings need an in depth anatomy assessment, but if the piercing you’re wanting is quite anatomy dependent we will have a discussion about placement, stability and viability.

2.ANATOMY ASSESMENT

After an anatomy check and we have the all clear, we have the fun part of picking out what jewellery we want! We have a range of Implant-grade Titanium and a wide range of 14k golds to pick from. Making sure we pick a piece that fits your vibe but more importantly, your anatomy.

3.JEWELLERY

4.CONSENT

You will be asked to fill in a consent form before we start the procedure. This is a legal requirement. This ensures we’re all on the same page!

5.STERILASATION

While you fill in your paper work, we will get your jewellery, needles and tools in the sterilizer. We use an Enbio Plus autoclave that is regularly maintained and serviced.

While the jewellery is sterilizing, we will start the cleaning and marking process. Marking will depend on existing piercings, jewellery used and anatomy. Some piercings we have lots of leeway on placement, some will have to be in specific positions to ensure comfort and healthy healing.

6.MARKING

7.SKIN PREP

This is a non negotiable, this is the bare minimum.
We use alcohol wipes then povidone-iodine to minimize the risks of infections.

8.PIERCING TIME

Using breathing techniques, we’ll ask you to take a deep breath in and on the exhale it is over and done with! When done correctly, this is a smooth process!

9.AFTERCARE

Aftercare is an important step to successfully healing a healthy piercing. An aftercare form will be given to you at the end of the appointment that will go through all you need to know!
